Mike & Jackie Skroch
Retired
Mike Skroch was raised in Flandreau and graduated from Flandreau High School in 1970. He attended SDSU in Brookings, SD and then apprenticed at Welter Funeral Home in Huron. Mike graduated from the California College of Mortuary Science in the fall of 1975. He began working with his father at Skroch Funeral Chapel living in Elkton until 1977 when they moved to Flandreau. Jackie Olson Skroch moved to Flandreau as a young girl and graduated from FHS in 1971. She attended Nettleton Business College in Sioux Falls earning a medical assistant degree. She worked for the Flandreau Medical Clinic and the Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribal Clinic for many years until joining the staff fulltime in 1992 at Skroch Funeral Chapel.
Mike and Jackie have three children, Natalie and her husband Ricco, Marty, Maren and her husband Tim, seven grandchildren, Steven, Emmett, Nathan, Mallorie, Mackson, Monroe and Maisie.
On January 1, 2023, Mike and Jackie Skroch retired from the day-to-day activities, but will assist on services when available.

Mitch Steinhoff
Funeral Director / Employee Owner
Mitch started in funeral service at the age of seventeen with Gramm Funeral Home of Ipswich, SD. He attended South Dakota State University for two years, studying pre-mortuary science. While in Brookings, Mitch was employed by Eidsness Funeral Home. He then transferred to the University of Minnesota. Mitch graduated in December of 2008, with a Bachelor’s Degree; majoring in Mortuary Science.
Mitch worked for Miller Funeral Home in Sioux Falls until 2012. At which time, he moved to Brookings to begin working with Eidsness Funeral Home. He became a partner in the firm in 2015. On January 1, 2023, Mitch joined the staff at Skroch Funeral Chapel as the Managing Partner.
Mitch is married to Ashley Steinhoff. They have three daughters: Addison, Bailey, and Chloe.
Mitch is a licensed funeral director in South Dakota and Minnesota. He serves as the South Dakota Funeral Directors Association President.

Cole Wingen
Funeral Director / Employee Owner
Cole Wingen was born and raised in Sioux Falls. He graduated from Washington High School in 2001. He then served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 2002 to 2006. During this time, he served two tours of duty in Iraq with 1st Battalion 4th Marines. Upon his discharge from the Marines, he began working in private security while attending Irvine Valley College in Irvine, CA.
Cole is a second-generation funeral director. In 2009 he began working with his father, Tim, at Miller Funeral Home in Sioux Falls. It was during this time that he began pre-mortuary studies at South Dakota State University. From September 2012 to 2013 he attended and is a graduate of Worsham College of Mortuary Science in Wheeling, IL. While attending Worsham College, he worked for Smith-Corcoran Funeral Homes in Chicago. Upon graduation from mortuary school, he returned to Miller Funeral Home and served his funeral director’s apprenticeship. Upon completing his apprenticeship, Cole became a licensed funeral director and worked at George Boom Funeral Home from 2014 to 2016. In March of 2016, he focused his practice in professional care services in the company care center. During this time, he attended Fountain National Academy for advanced embalming techniques focusing on postmortem reconstructive surgery. Also, during this time he completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Mortuary Science and Funeral Service at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. Upon graduation, he enrolled into graduate school at Southern Illinois University receiving his Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration graduating in December of 2022.
Cole and his wife Jessica (McCart) Wingen married in 2020. Jessica works for the South Dakota Department of Corrections. They enjoy traveling, kayaking, and hiking with their dogs. They are also involved with the Special Olympics of South Dakota and Jessica is a representative for the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. The Wingen’s welcomed their first child, Jackson in 2022.
Cole became a partner in the firm in 2019. He is licensed to practice in South Dakota and Minnesota.

Logan Brandriet
Funeral Director
Logan Brandriet joined Eidsness Funeral Home and Skroch Funeral Chapel in January of 2025. Logan is an Arlington native, where he graduated from high school in 2017. Logan attended South Dakota State University and Des Moines Community College for their Mortuary Science Program graduating in the spring of 2022. Logan became a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in June of 2022.
Logan also manages Geise Funeral Chapels in Estelline, Lake Norden, and Castlewood.
Logan is an avid outdoorsman and will be caught fishing or hunting when he is not in the office. In the summer time, Logan enjoys spending time at the lake and golfing.

Logan Brandriet joined Eidsness Funeral Home and Skroch Funeral Chapel in January of 2025. Logan is an Arlington native, where he graduated from high school in 2017. Donna Manzey
Office Manager
Donna (Stein) Manzey joined the Skroch Funeral Chapel staff in January 2023 as the new Office Manager.
She was born and raised on a farm west of Elkton, SD, along with her five siblings. Donna graduated from Elkton High School and attended college in Sioux Falls. She currently lives north of Flandreau where she loves the quiet, country living. Having grown up only 15 miles from Flandreau, she has been a part of different activities in the community over the years. With large extended families, Donna says she is probably related to half the community!
Donna and her husband Brian have three children - Michael (Krystal), Jenna (Jason), and Jill (Kolt); and eight grandchildren - Jericho, Kingston, Deja, Amiyah, Shay, Mackley, Remi, and Hadley. They are the joy of her life!
She enjoys an active lifestyle of farm living, horseback riding, pickleball, reading, gardening, and sharing a cup of coffee with family and friends.
Donna is honored to share in the lives of friends and families of this community with compassion and kindness.

Emily Johnson
Funeral Arranger / Mortuary Student
Emily is an Estelline, SD Native, where she graduated from high school in 2021. Emily attended Lake Area Technical College and has been accepted into Des Moines Area Community College for their Mortuary Science Program starting in the Fall of 2023. Emily joined the Eidsness Funeral Home team in February 2025.
Emily enjoys spending time at the lake and helping on the family farm.

Emily Johnson
Funeral Arranger / Mortuary Student
Emily is an Estelline, SD Native, where she graduated from high school in 2021. Emily attended Lake Area Technical College and has been accepted into Des Moines Area Community College for their Mortuary Science Program starting in the Fall of 2023. Emily joined the Eidsness Funeral Home team in February 2025.
Emily enjoys spending time at the lake and helping on the family farm.

John Radtke
Advanced Planning Counselor
John grew up in Sanborn, Minnesota and received his education in Pipestone, graduating with a degree in Business. He has been in the funeral business since 1984. John serves as the pre-planning manager for Skroch Funeral Chapel.

Caitlyn Drietz
Student
Caitlyn Drietz joined Skroch Funeral Chapel staff in October 2024.
Caitlyn is a Flandreau native, graduating from Flandreau High School in 2014. She attended SDSU, and currently serves as the Moody County Museum director. She looks forward to attending mortuary school in the near future to become a licensed funeral director.
Caitlyn has a son (Nikola), fiancé (Joe Eng), and a variety of adopted pets.
In her personal and professional life, she enjoys volunteering, creative problem solving, and developing programs and events to promote community.
