Yonwanda Lee Taylor, 65, of Colman, SD, formerly of Loco, OK, passed away Monday, September 21, 2015 at her home in Colman. She was born March 28, 1950 in Talihina, OK to Jackson Lee and Cora Lee (Imotochey) Collins. She went to Chilocco Indian School in Oklahoma. After school, she worked for Strongberg Carlson in Ardmore, OK for ten years. Then she went to Uniroyal in Ardmore until she retired. Yonwanda was born March 28, 1950 in Talihina, OK to Jackson Lee and Cora Lee (Imotochey) Collins. She went to Chilocco Indian School in Oklahoma. After school, she worked for Strongberg Carlson in Ardmore, OK for ten years. Then she went to Uniroyal in Ardmore until she retired. Skipper would always tell everyone "Live day by day like it was your last." She lived her life to the fullest each and every day. She always had a smile on her face no matter how bad things got. She liked watching CSI Miami, Criminal Minds, listening to Credence Clearwater Revival and yelling at her grandkids.
Skipper is survived by two daughters, Alena Monique Collins (Moe) and boyfriend Ronnie Miles, Colman, Trina Marie Collins and boyfriend Sidney Taylor, Ardmore, OK, two sons, Jason Shawn Collins and his wife, Renia, Colman, Bradley Collins, Ardmore, OK, and recent boyfriend, Micheal Bolin, Madison, SD, six grandkids, Wanona Collins, Chelsie Taylor, Lydia Harjo, Mark Collins, Cole Collins, Takoda Collins, and one great-grandson Austin Harjo. She is preceded in death by her husband, Austin Ray Taylor, her mother and father, sister Sarah Copeland, brother Johnny Collins, nephew Jackie Collins, and several aunts and uncles.
There will be visitation 5:00 – 7:00 pm Friday, September 25, 2015 at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Colman, SD, with a 7:00 pm prayer service at the chapel.
