Wilma L. Ahlers, 88, of Flandreau, SD passed away Friday, November 26, 2021, under hospice care at her home. Wilma was born November 14, 1933, at Kennebec, SD to Lyle and Grace (Dunlap) Moore. They lived at Vivian, SD where she graduated from high school. Wilma worked at the lumber yard in Vivian and then attended Mitchell Nursing School. She married Jerry Ahlers on May 3, 1955, in Vivian. She moved to Flandreau, SD and Wilma was the bookkeeper for their business, Ahlers Body Shop, for over 30 years. Wilma was a member of Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, Altar Society, Catholic Quilters, VFW Auxiliary, the Hospital Auxiliary, and a volunteer at the Flandreau Clinic. She enjoyed her flower beds, quilting, cooking, and baking cookies. Wilma especially enjoyed traveling with her husband and attending her grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's events.

Wilma is survived by five children, Curt Ahlers, Flandreau; Fran (Russ) Waters, Plymouth, MN; David Ahlers, Flandreau; Harold (Shelly) Ahlers, Renner, SD; Lori (Pat) Hartmann, Albert Lea, MN; 18 grandchildren, Andrew, Ashley, Regan, Jennifer, Beth, Amanda, Samantha, Jamie, Lachelle, Nikki, Courtney, Kristen, Carter, Heather, Scott, Sean, Kayla, and Michelle; 44 great-grandchildren, Jordan, Treyton, Carson, Landyn, Breckyn, Laikyn, Ryker, Kysen, Isabelle, Eva, Elyse, Addie, Teddy, Charlie, Annie, Landrie, Lo, Hayes, Willa, Collyns, Beau, Tucker, Griffin, Maizie, Rory, Livie, Lincoln, Maddyn, Lauryn, Boston, Londyn, Cutler, Cruz, Houston, Emery, Tate, Owen, Leo, Carlie, Walter, Eli, John Paul, Kinsley, and Levi; and one sister Lila Mae Christian, Pierre, SD. Wilma was preceded by her husband Jerry (July 5, 2006), an infant son William, great-granddaughter Leilah Kay, sister Maxine and two brothers, Wayne and Carl.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation from 5:00 – 7:00 pm Tuesday with a 7:00 pm scripture service at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Flandreau.
