Whynema Caroline (Bergman) Ehlers, 96, passed away Sunday February 17, 2013 at Riverview Health Services, in Flandreau, SD. Whynema was born August 6, 1916 in Verdi, MN to George and Julie (Meyer) Bergman. She attended school in Lincoln Co, MN. She married Ivan H. Ehlers on December 11, 1934 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Flandreau, SD. They farmed until 1942 when they moved to Flandreau. Her husband preceded her in death on September 28, 1968. Whynema was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church. She worked at various jobs including: 6 years at the school lunchroom and 10 years at the Flandreau hospital. Whynema enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, playing cards, and having coffee with her friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Whynema is survived by 2 children, Verda Kuonen, Philadelphia, PA, Roger (Corrine) Ehlers, Flandreau, 9 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 3 sisters, and 3 brothers.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday February 20, 2013 at 11:00 am at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Flandreau. Visitation is from 5pm-7pm Tuesday at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Flandreau.
