Violet A. Kramer, 78 of Flandreau died Thursday, July 31, 2008 at Good Samaritan Village in Pipestone, MN. Violet was born July 26, 1930 at Colman, SD to Kristen and Myrthe (Jokumson) Bach. She attended school in Egan and was married to Louis G. Kramer on June 20, 1949 at Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Church in Flandreau. They farmed in the Flandreau area until 1965 when they moved west of Baltic. In 1973 they moved northeast of Flandreau and then moved into Flandreau in February 2003. Violet became a resident at United Retirement Center in Brookings in February 2003 and then at Good Samaritan Village in Pipestone in January 2004. Violet actively attended Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Church and was a member of the Altar Society, Catholic Daughters of America, Hobby Club and the VFW Auxiliary.
Violet is survived by her husband, Louie; one son, Greg (Marianne), Flandreau; three daughters, Anna (Larry) Meade, Omaha, NE, Shirley (Marvin) Todd, Madison, SD and LaVonne, (Myron) Linneman, Sioux Falls; 14 grandchildren six great-grandchildren and one brother, Walt (Betty) Bach, Flandreau. Violet was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Elmo and Jens, three sisters, Fern, Evelyn and Rose and two infant sisters.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 10:30am at Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, Flandreau with burial in the Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2:00pm Monday with a 7:00pm scripture service at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Flandreau.
