Vernon L. Schult, 68, died Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Avera Flandreau Hospital. Vern was born March 23, 1947 at Flandreau, SD to William and Marian (Myers) Schult. Vern attended country school and graduated from Flandreau High School in 1965. He started working as a mason and then entered the army. Vern married Ila Sik on July 6, 1979 in Slayton, MN. They lived in Slayton for three years and then moved to Sioux Falls. He worked as a commercial painter in Sioux Falls until retiring in 2010. He loved to hunt and fish and he loved his family.

Vern is survived by two daughters, Andrea (Fred) Solinger, Braham, MN, Jacqulyn (Chad) Kriech, Sioux Falls, his former wife Ila Schult, Sioux Falls, one granddaughter Avery, one grandson Benjamin, another granddaughter due in July, two sisters, Deanna (Ed) Anderson, Alexandria, MN, Dottie Johnson, Volga and nieces and nephews, Greg (Kathy) Anderson, Kim Daniel and Jay (Billi Jo) Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Doug Johnson.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Flandreau, with burial in Union Cemetery.
