Timothy Dean Thielsen, 33, died Saturday, May 22, 2010 as a result of drowning while trying to save his dog, Bud at the Flandreau Dam. Tim was born on August 10, 1976 to Roger and Kathy (Dooley) Thielsen in Sioux Falls. He grew up in Sioux Falls and attended Lincoln High School. Tim won various awards growing up including a National Geography Bee Contest. He worked for Luden's, building harvest elevators throughout the US and other countries. Tim was a jack-of-all-trades and had various jobs. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards and Xbox. Tim loved his sons and his dog, Bud.

Tim is survived by his 4 sons, Christopher Thielsen, Zachary Thielsen, Trevor Thielsen, Joshua Moneypenny; fiancé, Jennifer Chapin, Centerville; mother, Kathy Hines, Centerville; father, Roger Thielsen, Flandreau; 1 brother, Adam Thielsen, Wahpeton, ND; 2 grandmothers, Marieta Dooley, Arlington, Darlene Thielsen, Sioux Falls; longtime friend, Crystal Boehrns; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many special friends.Tim was preceded in death by 2 grandfathers, Walter Dooley, Howard Thielsen and step-father, Daniel Hines.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Flandreau with burial at Arlington Cemetery, Arlington, SD. Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM Tuesday as Skroch Funeral Chapel with a prayer service at 7:30 PM.
