Thomas W. Pickering, 78, of Trent, SD, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at his home. Thomas was born September 8, 1940 in Salem, SD, to David and Hazel (Van Tassel) Pickering. He was raised in Sioux Falls, SD, where he received his education. Tom worked at A-1 Sanitation for many years and then John Morrell & Co. until retiring due to health. He lived in Trent for many years. Tom enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching football and was an avid Vikings fan.

Tom is survived by four children, Laurie (Terry) Dolan, Beresford, SD; Linda (Steve) Rydell, Baltic, SD; LeAnn Pickering, Sioux Falls; Tom (Anna) Pickering, Marshall, MN; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; six sisters, Sharon Klueber, Madonna Kennedy, Linda Pickering, Fran (Lyle) Anderson, Carol (Bob) Gaut, Mary (Lenny) Breuer; and one brother Michael Pickering. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, sister Shirley, brother Patrick and good friend Bonnie O'Brien.

A Celebration of Life will be 1:00 pm Monday, May 13, 2019 at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Flandreau, with burial in St. Michael Catholic Cemetery, Sioux Falls. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
