Thomas Wayne Johnson, age 65, passed away Monday, April 13, 2015 at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital, Yankton, SD. He was born February 1, 1950 in Flandreau, SD to Merlin and Ethel (Olevson) Johnson. Tom attended school in Flandreau and graduated from Washington High School in Sioux Falls. He moved to Yankton and lived at Sir Charles Apartments for many years while working at the State Hospital as a paper shredder. Tom retired in 2012 and continued to live in Yankton moving to Cedar Village Assisted Living this past year. He enjoyed playing cards, collecting stamps and coins, music, fishing with family in Yankton, returning to Flandreau for the holiday season, and eating meals at JoDean's.

Tom is survived by two brothers, Jay (Jo Ellen), Brookings, Monte (Lorraine), Flandreau, two nieces, two nephews, several great-nieces and nephews, two aunts, Delores Johnson, Flandreau, Ona Olevson, Minneota, MN, and special friend Lee Hohm, Sioux Falls. Tom was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Friday, April 17, 2015 at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Flandreau, with burial in the Swedish Augustana Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 pm Thursday at the funeral chapel.
