Tari L. Shane, 60, died Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at her home in Flandreau. Tari was born on June 2, 1950 at Pipestone, MN to Robert and Shirley (Thomsen) Shane. She was educated in a Pipestone County country school and then the family moved to Ivanhoe, MN. Tari's family moved to Fairmont, MN where she graduated from Fairmont High School. Tari attended Jackson Vo-Tech and majored in Accounting. She entered the Army National Guard in Fairmont. Tari then moved to Salem, OR and served full time in the Oregon Army National Guard and the US Army where she attained the rank of Sergeant. She retired and moved to Flandreau in 2001. Tari was a member of the United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.

Tari is survived by three siblings, Janice (Neil) Jensen, Mankato, MN, Steve (Kathy) Shane, Fairmont, MN, Larry Shane, Sarasota, FL; special friend, Mark Clink; and nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Patty.

Memorial services will be Monday, November 15, 2010 at 11:00 AM at United Methodist Church, Flandreau with burial at New Woodlawn Cemetery, Pipestone, MN.
