Sylvia V. McMahon, 74, of Colman died Thursday, May 28, 2009 at Dells Area Health Center, Dell Rapids, SD. Sylvia was born on September 23, 1934 in Huron, SD to Claude and Hazel (Boone) Blair. She was educated in Huron and then started working as a waitress. She married George McMahon on September 29, 1961 in Luverne and then they farmed between Colton and Hartford. They moved to Colman in 1971 and she waitressed at the Colman Municipal Store. She then worked at T & R Electric and at the Crossroads Truck Stop retiring in 2003. George preceded her in death on July 13, 1998. Sylvia enjoyed watching her kids and grandkids playing softball, Twins baseball, yard work, and her aquarium.

Sylvia is survived by 2 sons: Kevin and his wife, Monica, Trent, SD and Kelly and special friend Kari Wittrock, Colman; 4 grandchildren: Jesse, Kendra, Lindsey, and Kayla; 1 great- grandson, Jadon and a dog, Jr. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents and two brothers.

Memorial visitation will begin Monday, June 1, 2009 starting at 4:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Colman. Sylvia's body was donated to Sanford USD Medical School, Vermillion. Burial will be at St. Peter Cemetery, Colman.
