Obituary

Steven S. Hasek, age 82 of Egan died Friday, March 14, 2008 at Riverview Manor, Flandreau. Steven was born February 3, 1926 in Wagner, SD to Adolph and Ella (Crha) Hasek and he attended grade school in Wagner. Steve enlisted in the US Army on November 8, 1945 and was honorably discharged November 9, 1946. In 1953 they moved to Egan where he farmed with his father. Steve married Eda Mae Newhagen on June 17, 1956 in Flandreau. He worked for Ralph Jackson for 16 years, Jim LeBrun for 8 years and Austreim Landscaping for 16 years. He retired in 1996 andk continued to make his home in Egan. Steve was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Egan American Legion and Senior Citizens.


Steven is survived by his wife, Eda Mae; a son, Tom Hasek, Egan and a daughter Jeri (Mike) Kellen, Flandreau; two brothers, Bernard (Judy), Tyndall, SD and Harry (Ann), Pierre; and a sister, Helen Johanson, Colman. Steve was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Richard Johanson.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Flandreau with burial in the Hillside Cemetery, Egan, SD. Visitation will begin at 2pm Tuesday at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Flandreau with a 7pm prayer service
