Steve "PV" Dailey, 61, died Wednesday, June 8, 2011. Steve was born July 28, 1949 in Pipestone, MN to Kenneth and Helen (Zitek) Dailey. He received his education at Dailey Country School District #18, Egan Public School and graduated from Flandreau High School in 1967. Steve enlisted in the US Navy on March 6, 1969 and after his discharge on January 26, 1973 he started farming with his father and brothers. They started a company named Star Gazers Cable Company and they served three South Dakota and seven Minnesota communities. Steve and his two brothers, Dean and Tobin, formed a farming partnership in 1991. Steve was a member of Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Church and Kelley-Porter American Legion Post #70. PV was the drummer for the Gemini Six Band, was an avid rock collector, played fast pitch softball and was a fan of the Minnesota Vikings and Twins.
Steve is survived by his wife, Sharon; mother, Helen Dailey, Flandreau; seven siblings: Will, Flandreau, Dean (Marci), Mankato, MN, Colleen Kuechle, Crystal, MN, Kevin (Kris), Brandon, Frank (Lori), Blaine, MN, Tobin (Tina), Flandreau, Brian, Flandreau; mother-in-law, Carol Wilts, many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth and father-in-law, Ole Wilts.
Funeral services will be 10:30 am Saturday, June 11, 2011 at Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation is from 5:00-8:00 pm Friday at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Flandreau.
