Sioux Falls – Stanley W. Kenison, 89, formerly of Colman died Sunday, June 27, 2010 at Dougherty Hospice House, Sioux Falls. Stanley was born May 9, 1921 in Colman to Irving and Esther (Pond) Kenison. He attended Shady Lawn Country School and graduated from Egan High School in 1941. Stanley started farming and on June 17, 1945 he married Jean Nelson in Colman. They continued to farm in Moody County until 1972. Stanley managed apartment complexes in California and Texas. He also was the building manager for St. Martin's Lutheran Church in Austin, TX for 13 years. He retired in 1988 and they moved to Sioux Falls.

Stanley is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jean, Sioux Falls; 3 sons, Douglas (Vicki) Kenison; Sioux Falls, Jerome (Pat) Kenison, Omaha, NE, Craig (Deb) Kenison, Tyler, TX; daughter, Cleo (Gary) Snuggerud, Sioux Falls, SD; 3 grandsons, Steve (Sara) Snuggerud, Ryan (Jill) Snuggerud, Nicolas Kenison; 2 granddaughters, Ashleigh (Cody) Nelson, Tiffany Kenison; 4 great-grandchildren, Jaylyn, Bryleigh, Kate, Kane all of Sioux Falls; 1 brother, Robert (Donna) Kenison, Sioux Falls; 2 sisters, Rachel Untiedt, Luverne, MN and Dorothy (Boyd) Lee, Knoxville, TN. He is preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother, Loren and 1 sister, Berneil Smith.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Hope Lutheran Church, Sioux Falls with burial at the Colman Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 – 7 PM at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Colman.
