Sharon Kay Maras, 78, of Flandreau, SD passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, October 22, 2021 at Dougherty Hospice House, Sioux Falls. Sharon was born on February 20, 1943 in Flandreau, SD to Forrest and Della Mae (Sutton) Lovejoy. She received her early education in Flandreau and then moved to Sioux Falls with her Aunt Iva and finished high school. She then graduated from Black Hills Beauty School in Sioux Falls. Sharon loved her profession and worked in many states including New York, New Jersey, Florida and Minnesota but most of her career was in Sioux Falls at 1 ^st Avenue Beauty Salon. Sharon was an active member of St. Mary's and Our Blessed Redeemer Episcopal Church, Flandreau. Sharon's passions in life were her family, being a wonderful beautician and her love of animals, especially horses and dogs. Sharon loved her daughter and beamed with pride over her two grandchildren, Kourt and Joey.

Sharon is survived by her daughter, Kimberly (Brian) Headrick, Tea, SD; 2 grandchildren, Kourtney and Joseph (JoJo);  five siblings, Barb Balbach, Waterford, CA;  Larry Lovejoy, Ardetta Lovejoy and Jackie Barse, all of Flandreau; and Tammy Lovejoy, Sioux Falls. Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Ben; former husband, Charles; parents, Forrest and Della; two brothers, Forrest and Gary and three sisters, Diane, Della Sue and Charlotte.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Flandreau, with burial in First Presbyterian Cemetery, Flandreau. Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 pm Wednesday with a 7:00 pm prayer service at the funeral chapel. Masks are required.
