Sandra Joy Andrews, 79, of Sioux Falls, passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at Riverview Healthcare Center, Flandreau. Sandy was born in Illinois on New Years Day in 1942 to James and Viola (Leeds) Swails. Following school, Sandy worked and travelled as a truck driver. She settled for a while in Colorado where she raised her family. Sandy also worked as a bartender and an appliance technician, before becoming an apartment manager in Sioux Falls. She managed apartments for nearly 15 years before her recent health decline. Sandy moved to Riverview Health Center in April to be closer to her daughter, Tammy.

Sandy liked watching sci-fi movies, playing cards, and was fascinated with wolves. Although stubborn until her last breath, she made her family and nursing home staff laugh with her own brand of goofy charm.

Sandy is survived by her four children: Glen (Cheryl) McMurl, Tammy Price, Sheila Matusik, and Larry Matusik; six grandchildren: Nina Shultze, Kandice Price, Jessie Reily, Danny Reily, Jacob Stroup, and LJ Matusik; and three great-grandchildren: Gracynn Shultze; Jaidenn Reeser; and Lukas Price.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, James and Viola Swails; granddaughter, Raquel Whiteman; and sisters: Celia Johnson and Deanna Rigler.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Sandy's honor at 3:30 pm on Saturday, July 10, 2021, at Tammy's residence in Brookings (2212 10 ^th Street Apt. 1 Brookings, SD 57006).
