Rosemary McMahon, 77, of Sioux Falls formerly of Flandreau died Sunday, September 13, 2009 at her son's home in Sioux Falls. Rosemary was born December 25, 1931 at Humboldt, SD to John and Mary (Flannery) Zimmer. She was educated and graduated from Humboldt High School in 1949. Rosemary attended General Beadle and received her teaching certificate. She taught country school in Minnehaha County. Rosemary married Leo McMahon on January 3, 1952 in Humboldt. Leo entered into the Army and Rosemary worked at Fenn's Company in Sioux Falls. After Leo's discharge they moved to Flandreau. In 1968 Rosemary worked as a Post Office clerk until retiring in 1984. Rosemary and Leo moved to Sioux Falls in January of 2000. Rosemary is a member St. Michael's Catholic Church, Sioux Falls, a former member of Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, Flandreau where she was active in Bible study and Altar Society.

Rosie is survived by her husband, Leo, Sioux Falls; five children, David (Carol) McMahon, Elkton, Ronald (Mary) McMahon, Pierre, Patrick McMahon, Sioux Falls, Rita (Dennis) Lindgren, Mandan, ND, Lois McMahon, Sioux Falls; 11 grandchildren, Peter (Shayna) McMahon, Katherine (Jason) Heinemann, Daniel (Annie) McMahon, Joan (Tom) Langum, Adam McMahon, Tracey McMahon, Jeremy McMahon, Mallory (Jerr) Berreth, Sarah (Nathan) Helbling, Mark (Kelly) Lindgren, Kris Lindgren; five great-grandchildren, Claire McMahon, Rachel Heinemann, Rebecca Heinemann, Matthew Heinemann, Eve McMahon and five brothers, Francis Zimmer, Hartford, David (Arlene) Zimmer, Sioux Falls, Gene (Lois) Zimmer, Sioux Falls, Steve (Donna) Zimmer, Sioux Falls, Lyle (MaryLou) Zimmer, Humboldt. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, John Peter, Peter and John Joseph.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 10:30 AM at Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, Flandreau with burial in the parish cemetery. Visitation will begin Wednesday at 4:00 PM with a scripture service at 7:00 PM at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Flandreau.
