Rosella Albers, age 92, of Flandreau, SD passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2024 at Avera Flandreau Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:30AM, Saturday, October 26, 2024 at Second Presbyterian Church in Flandreau, SD. Visitation will be held from 5:00PM to 7:00PM with a prayer service beginning at 6:30PM on Friday, October 25, 2024 at Skroch Funeral Chapel in Flandreau, SD.

Rosella was born June 7, 1932 south of Lennox, South Dakota on the farm.  She was the daughter of Heiko and Mamie (Sather) Hyronimus. She attended Long Creek School and graduated from Lennox High School.  Before marriage, she was the bookkeeper for Tuthill Lumber Company in Lennox, SD.

On October 20, 1953, she married the love of her life, Delmar Albers.  They were married 71 years.  Delmar and Rosella were blessed with four sons: Darnell, Cordell, Ardean, and DeLane.

Rosella enjoyed cooking, canning, raising flowers, outdoor work, country music, watching Wheel of Fortune, and square dancing.  She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church where she served as a deacon and treasurer of the Faith Circle, and helped in many other areas wherever needed.

Rosella, first and foremost loved being a farmwife. She also worked at the Flandreau School kitchen baking up all the goodies for 12 years and enjoyed working at Iott's Greenhouse for a few years.

Survivors include her husband, Delmar Albers, Flandreau, SD; sons, Darnell (Pam) Albers, Flandreau, SD, Cordell (Candy) Albers, Amity, OR, Ardean (Vicki) Albers, Flandreau, SD, and DeLane (Ruth) Albers, El Paso, TX; 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren; and two great-great- grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Heiko and Mamie Hyronimus; his parents, Harm and Lena (Stoffers) Albers; daughter, Delva; daughter-in-law, Grace; brothers-in-law, Harley Albers, Pete Vanderwerf, Pete Nordman; grandson, Luis; granddaughter, Heidi; and great-granddaughter, Brooklin.

Alongside their children, family and friends, Rosella and Delmar gratefully shared their life together for 71 years.
