Ronald Allen Suhr, 68, died November 16, 2010 at Wentzville, MO. Ron was born on December 28, 1941 to Robert and Reva (Stokes) Suhr at the Flandreau Municipal Hospital. He was baptized at Clare Lutheran Church and was a member of the 1956 Confirmation class. He received his elementary education at Tidd country school and graduated from Flandreau High School in 1959. He pursued his college education at SDSU. He was recognized as a Briggs scholar and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering in 1963. Upon graduation, he moved to St. Louis where he was employed by McDonnell Douglas and worked on the design of the Gemini space craft. He later moved to Hibbing, MN and worked for Abe Mathews, a mining consulting firm. It was there that he met and married Patricia Yost. Ron served in the US Army in 1967 and 1968. Upon his retirement from Abe Mathews, the family moved to St. Louis.
Ron is survived by his two daughters, Vicky and Paulette and his son, Paul, all living in the St. Louis area; a brother, James (Margaret) Suhr of Aurora and two aunts, Nellie Krogmann and Habe Suhr both of Brookings. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jordan.
Graveside services will be 11:00 am Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at Union Cemetery, Flandreau.
