Ronald "Lee" Severtson, age 65, of Dell Rapids and formerly of Flandreau, passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. Memorial Services will be 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Skroch Funeral Chapel in Flandreau, SD.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Ronald Lee Severtson was born on May 12, 1959 to Ronald and Gloria Severtson at the Flandreau Hospital.  He graduated from Flandreau High School in 1977.  Ron attended the University of South Dakota for two years.

He then received education relevant to his life-long work in radiation protection at nuclear plants around the United States.  This work took place on and off until 2020.  He also worked at the Severtson family farm at times with his brother and nephews.

Lee met his wife, Lori Libal and were blessed with two children, Duran and Haley.  They were together until 1994.  He lived the remainder of his life with Renee Thomas of Flandreau, SD. Lee loved his kids, family, travel, sports and hunting and fishing.

Grateful for having shared his life are his daughter, Haley; brother, Craig (Joan) Severtson; sister, Deb Imrie; nephews, Beau Severtson, Bret (Megan) Severtson, Beckett and Elliot, Luke (Heather) Imrie, Joel (Miranda) Imrie, Milo and Violet; niece, Katharine (Jake) Kaczmarowski, Mason; and step-mother, Vee Severtson.

He was preceded in death by his son, Duran; and parents, Ron and Gloria Severtson.
