Ronald James Minor, 91, of Flandreau, SD passed away Monday, October 17, 2022, at Dougherty Hospice House, Sioux Falls. Ronald was born April 25, 1931, in Brookings, SD to Henry R. and Marie (Katt) Minor. He attended country school and his family moved to California for 7 years. Upon returning to South Dakota, Ron graduated from Brookings High School in 1949. Ron met Beverly Mary Heinemann roller skating at Lake Campbell and they were married January 6, 1953, in Flandreau, SD. They farmed together for 50 years northwest of Flandreau, retiring in 2003. They raised pigs, chickens, and sheep. His favorite was feeding cattle. Ron was a member of Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, a lifetime member of South Dakota Farmer's Union, served on the Coleman District 63 Country School Board, and made hundreds of rosaries to send overseas. He enjoyed dancing, playing cards, watching the Twins, Vikings, and all kinds of sports, and loved attending the grandchildren's events. Ron had many great memories with his brother and Minor cousins through the years.

Ron is survived by three daughters, Cynthia (David) Beyer, Alexandria, SD; Ronda (Bill) Griffin, Miles City, MT; Denise (Rick) Wiese, Flandreau; eight grandchildren, Katrina (David) Granholm, Heidi (Joe) Jarding, Corey (Mary) Beyer, Amy (Chad) Hodgson, Sandra (Brendan) Sheppard, Adam (Kathryn) Wiese, Lori (Joel) Tucker, Anna Heeney (fiancé Chad Goldammer); and 21 great-grandchildren. Ron was preceded in death by his wife Beverly (December 11, 2019), great-grandson Mac, brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Jean Minor, and his parents.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Friday, October 21, 2022, at Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, Flandreau, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 pm Thursday with a 7:00 pm scripture service and Rosary at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Flandreau.
