Flandreau - Robert D. Petersen, 68, died at his home on April 16, 2009. He was born December 6, 1940 in Flandreau to Fritz and Eunice (Schroeder) Petersen. He graduated from Egan High School in 1958. Bob served in the US Army as an MP at Fort Ord, CA. After his discharge he worked at a furniture store in Santa Cruz, CA and owned a furniture refinishing business and a pool cleaning business in Palm Springs, CA. Bob returned to Flandreau in 1992 and worked at B & B Concrete and recently had worked at Loiseau Construction.

Bob is survived by a daughter, Cindy(Tom) Murray, San Mateo, CA; a son, Brian (Sophie) Petersen, San Francisco, CA; two grandchildren, Lyndsey Gilbert and Andrew Murray; a sister, Joanne (Alvin) Griebel, Hatfield, MN and a brother, James F. Sr. (Judith) Petersen, Flandreau. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Larry.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Flandreau, with burial at Hillside Cemetery, Egan. Visitation is from 9:00 am Wednesday until service time.
