Obituary

Robert W. Lutter, 95, died Saturday, November 3, 2012 at the Flandreau Medical Center. Robert was born August 10, 1917 at Humboldt, Saskatchewan, Canada to Anton and Regina (Grunsky) Lutter. As a child, his family moved to Redfield, SD where Robert received his education. He worked as a mechanic and then as a carpenter. Robert married Evelyn Miller on January 4, 1942 in Mellette, SD. He served in the United States Army during WWII. After his discharge, Bob and Evelyn lived in Redfield where he worked as a mechanic, in heavy construction and built and repaired grain elevators. They moved to Flandreau in 1962 and he worked as a carpenter at Flandreau Indian School. Bob was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and the Flandreau American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, taking care of their yard and home and traveling.

Bob is survived by his wife Evelyn, four children, Sharon Lutter, Appleton, WI, Robert (Gloria), Hartford, Stanley (Gail), Dallas, TX, Bill (Pam), Ramona, SD, 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and five brothers.

Funeral services will be 10:30 am Friday, November 9, 2012 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church with burial in Union Cemetery. Visitation begins at 4:00 pm Thursday at Skroch Funeral Chapel with a 7:00 pm prayer service.
