Robert S. Groos, 78, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Madison Regional Health System, Madison, SD. Bob was born June 13, 1937 at Colman, SD to Anthony and Laura (Bauer) Groos. He graduated from Colman High School in 1956 and attended SDSU in Brookings, SD. Bob married Dolores Anderson on May 31, 1958 in Colman. He farmed near Wentworth, SD and they moved into Colman in January 1998. Bob has continued to farm with his sons. His wife preceded him in death on February 7, 2008. Bob drove school bus for over 40 years, was a Vikings fan and loved watching his kids and grandkids play sports.

Bob is survived by two daughters, Lana (Bill) Thompson and Dara (Pat) McKnight, two sons, Jay (Maria) and Rex (Lona), all of Colman, 12 grandchildren, Deidra, Dax (Kylie), Tyson, Taitt, Trey, Burgin, Bodee, Paityn, Baylee, Kade, Berkley, Maebe, sister Mary Ann Groos, Pueblo, CO and brother Andy (JoAnn) Groos, Colman. Bob was preceded in death by his wife Dolores, parents, one sister Theresa and two infant brothers, Joseph and Alvis.

Visitation is Sunday, May 1, 2016 from 2 – 4 p.m. at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Colman, with burial in Rosehill Cemetery, Wentworth.
