Robert H. Armstrong, 56, of Flandreau, passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at his home. A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, June 5, 2023 at First Presbyterian Cemetery in Flandreau, South Dakota. An all-night wake service will be held beginning at 7:00 PM, Sunday, June 4, 2023 at Eastman Hall in Flandreau, South Dakota.

Robert was born on November 23, 1966 to John and Fannie Armstrong. He attended school for one year at Onamia Indian School in Onamia, Minnesota and then Flandreau Public Schools.

He worked odd jobs as a handyman throughout the community and worked at Commodity Office for a time.

Robert enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews. His hobbies included going to the races, camping, go-cart races in the back yard with his nieces and nephews, going to Thunder Road, family events, picnics with Kentucky Fried Chicken, football, and rock and roll music. He also collected cars, participated in bowling league, and was a one-handed pool shark.

He is survived by his siblings, Neldie Montoya, Jason (Leah) Armstrong, and Betty Armstrong, all of Flandreau, SD; and 14 nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Fannie Armstrong, sister, Paula Armstrong, nieces, Libby Armstrong and Secrets Billyboy and nephew, John Billyboy.
