Rita L. Staab, 82, of Egan, SD passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2021 at Dougherty Hospice House, Sioux Falls. Rita was born at Pipestone, MN on August 31, 1938 to Leo and Myrtle (Boock) DeGriselles. She received most of her education in Pipestone and graduated from Egan High School. She was married to Gerald Staab on July 6, 1957 at Pipestone. They lived in Marshall, MN and she worked at several jobs including being a waitress and a bar tender. She attended Willmar Vo Tech and received a LPN nursing degree. She then worked at the Avera nursing home in Marshall until she retired. They moved to Egan in 2006 and Gerald passed away on September 2, 2018. Rita enjoyed gardening, canning, baking and cooking.

Rita is survived by two brothers, Robert (Patricia) DeGriselles, Sioux Falls; Joel Kotan, Flandreau and a sister Carol (Henry) Lueeke, Canton, SD. She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Leo Kotan; sister Marvel Feest and two stepbrothers, David and Steve Kotan.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Thursday, February 11, 2021 at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Flandreau with burial in Hillside Cemetery, Egan. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral service.
