Rebecca Gale Red Earth-Villeda (née Rederth) 72, of Flandreau, SD, passed away on Friday, December 19, 2025 at Flandreau Santee Sioux Care Center. A memorial service will be held at 10:00AM on Friday, December 26, 2025. Family present visitation will take place at 5:00 PM with a wake service beginning at 7:00PM on Monday, December 22, 2025 at Eastman Hall in Flandreau, SD.

Rebecca "Becky" was born on January 8, 1953 in Sisseton, SD to Rosemary Donna Rederth.  She grew up in Flandreau, SD and attended Flandreau Public schools.  She was a proud member of the Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribe (FSST).  She was married to Louis Montgomery, Jr. and together they had nine "baby angels", as she called them.  She later met and married Trinidad Villeda.

Over the course of her life, Becky worked in many capacities, to include working at John Morrell, First American Inn, Citibank, and 3M.  She was a passionate advocate for all, regardless of past differences when fighting for those rights.  She was a creative spirit who enjoyed arts and crafts, baking, and gardening.  She was exceptionally gifted in Native American beadwork and could be found at pow-wows and other tribal events showcasing her beautiful beadwork.  She was also fiercely passionate about the things that meant the most to her.  Her strong family values and commitment to her beliefs were an inspiration to all who knew her. She will be deeply missed by her loved ones.

Becky is survived by her husband, Trinidad Villeda; her children:  Louis Montgomery III (Sioux Falls); Susan Montgomery (Sioux Falls); Clarence Montgomery (Brookings); Elizabeth Shortman (Flandreau); Lance Montgomery (Sioux Falls); Danielle Montgomery (Sioux Falls); Andrew Montgomery (Brookings); and Percy Montgomery (Clarksville, IN); her sister, Melodie Crow (Flandreau); her brothers, Lloyd "John" Crow, Jr. (Flandreau); and Darwin Crow (Flandreau); many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Zollie Gail Montgomery; her mother, Rosemary Donna Rederth; her twin brother, Dana Red Earth; her brother, Conrad Rederth; her brother,  Jeffrey Robin Rederth; her sister, Brenda Crow; and her brother, Glenn Rederth.
