Ralph Hansen, 76, passed away Monday, October 24, 2016 under hospice care at his home in Flandreau, SD. Ralph was born March 20, 1940 in Flandreau, SD to Otto and Minna (Siefert) Hansen. He received his education in Flandreau and after school started working construction. Ralph married Glenda Jewett August 4, 1962 in Flandreau. In 1964 they moved to Gibbon, NE and returned to Flandreau where he worked building dorms at the Flandreau Indian School. In 1968 Ramlo and Hansen Construction was formed. Ralph and his brother Frank purchased Bar X Bar, Inc. in Flandreau in September 1972. He bought Frank out in 1990 and his family still owns the bar. In 1975 the construction business became Hansen Construction and later it became Hansen-Thomas Construction Inc. with Ralph retiring in 2010. He was a member of Second Presbyterian Church and he enjoyed gardening, rummage sales, farm and tractors and most of all his grandchildren.

Ralph is survived by his wife Glenda, son Tom (Vonda) Hansen, daughters, Karla (Brad) Bjerke and Kimberly Hansen, all of Flandreau, 10 grandchildren, Mitch, Jacy, Kinsley, Jenna, Kara, Michael, Meagan, Breean, Lexy and Brody, 6 great-grandchildren, Ella, Jacob, Remington, Maris, Ripken and Kaia, brother Ed Hansen, Sr., Flandreau, Ralph's dog, Little One and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Frank and Marvin.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Second Presbyterian Church, Flandreau, with burial in Union Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at Skroch Funeral Chapel.
