Penny L. Thomas, 58 died Monday, April 13, 2009 at her home surrounded by her family. Penny was born in Bournemouth, England on October 13, 1950. She received her education in England and then moved to Vancouver, British Columbia. Penny married Danny Thomas on August 12, 1975 in Sioux Falls, SD and they lived in Sioux Falls. They purchased Chamley's Bar in Flandreau in 1977 which they owned and operated until 1996. They moved to the Black Hills where Penny did bookkeeping and accounting until June 1, 2007 when they moved to Chester.

Penny is survived by her husband, Danny; her 5 children: Danny of Chester, Abby of Chester, Billy (Sheena) of Sioux Falls, Kristy of Brookings, Karly of Chester, her mother, Peggy Smith, of Flandreau and her mother-in-law, La Vonne Thomas of Flandreau. She was preceded in death by her brother, Howard, step-father, Gordon and her father-in-law, Ellis.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Friday at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Flandreau. Visitation will begin at 4:00 pm Thursday with a 7:00 pm prayer service all at Skroch Funeral Chapel.
