Patricia Cecilia Rice, 68, of Brookings, SD passed away, Tuesday at her home in Brookings. Patty was born at Flandreau to Leo and Cecilia (Sauer) Rice on September 22, 1953. She received her education in Flandreau and moved to Brookings. She worked at Staurolite Inn Hotel and Larson Manufacturing in Brookings. Patty then worked and resided at Advance in Brookings until her retirement in 2019. Patty was known for her smile and laugh, enjoyed getting her hair and nails done, The Beach Boys and Dolly Parton, doing crafts, watching movies and her stuffed animals.

Patty is survived by her parents, Leo and Cecilia, Flandreau; five siblings, Paul (Carol), Fort Dodge, IA; Dale (Delores), Mitchell, SD; Teresa (Stephen Brady) Nelson, Flandreau; Wayne, Bullhead City, AZ; Mae (Curt) Mohror, Flandreau; 19 nieces and nephews and 26 great-nieces and nephews. Patty was preceded in death by a brother Dennis and an infant sister Betty Ann.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am Saturday at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Flandreau.
