Obituary

Lake Campbell - Patricia Billman, 77, died at Brookview Manor on 8 July after an eight year battle with Alzheimer's. She was born to Merle and Estrid (Utoft) Lawrence on 26 July 1931 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Pat, her mother, and brother (Keith) moved to Tyler, Minnesota where she completed high school in 1949. After completing secretarial school in Mankato, Minnesota, she accepted a position as a secretary in the Entomology-Zoology Department at South Dakota State Collage. She married David Billman in 1952 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. While her husband was in Korea she lived in St Paul, Minnesota where she worked for the St Paul Pioneer Press. In 1955 Pat and her husband moved to Brookings where David completed his master's degree at SDSU. Pat was a loving wife and mother who made a wonderful home wherever David's work took them. They lived in Yankton and Pierre, South Dakota; Logan, Utah, and, Omaha, Nebraska. After retirement, in 1987, they built their home on Lake Campbell.

Pat is survived by her husband David of 57 years, three sons, Larry (Mary), Steven, and Charles and daughter, Debora Elmore; seven grandchildren, Cris (Brent), Cassy, Cayte, Charlie, Stephanie, Albert, and Sarah; and three great grandchildren Brady, Boyd, and Bryce; all of Omaha, Nebraska, and her brother Keith (Theresa) of Hollywood, Florida.

Private family services will be held.
