Nic A. Rose, 33, died Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at Valentine, NE. Nic was born August 2, 1978 in Flandreau, SD to Mark Rose and Tammy Renville. He graduated from Flandreau High School in 1996 and attended the University of Minnesota. He returned to Flandreau and cooked at The Cattlemen's Club, Mad Mary's and at the Flandreau Indian School for several years. Nic attended Sisseton-Wahpeton Indian Community College and then moved to Sioux Falls where he worked at Red Lobster and at Crossroads in Colman. He moved to Valentine, NE where he has lived for the last two years working at a golf club, Casey's and Super 8. Nic enjoyed people and was always ready to converse and lend a helping hand.

Nic is survived by his son Dedric Rose, Flandreau, mother Tammy Renville (Ed Lunday), Flandreau, father Mark Rose, Flandreau, grandmother Lois Morgan, Brookings, grandparents Gloria and Jack Lunday, Dunseith, ND, grandfather Lee Rose, Flandreau, siblings, Patience Lunday, Flandreau, Tash Lunday, Flandreau, Chelsey (Ben) Milliman, Sioux Falls, Logan Rose, Flandreau, Alycia Rose, Flandreau, Noah Rose, Flandreau, Misty (Jason) Brorby, Rollet, ND, Breezy Lunday, Belcourt, ND, Josett Monette, Belcourt, ND, nephews, Camden, Terrell, Christopher, Jude, nieces, Callie Ann, Caylynn, Avayha, Olivia, Lupe and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandpa Kenny Renville, grandma Ida Rose and sister Haylee.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Monday, September 5, 2011 at Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation begins 5:00 pm Sunday with a 7:00 pm Scripture Service at Eastman Hall, Flandreau.
