Merle V. Bettcher, 60 of Colman, died April 17, 2012 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls.

Merle was born on October 12, 1951 at Bridgewater, SD to John and Margaret (Dahlmon) Bettcher. He attended school in Bridgewater and then lived in Dell Rapids and Colman. Merle worked at T & R Electric for 30 years. Merle loved being with his friends. Merle is survived by 3 brothers: Jerry (Sharon) Bettcher, Sioux Falls, SD, Dale (Darla) Bettcher, Dell Rapids, Allen (Deb) Bettcher, Sigourney, IA; a sister: Sharon (Jim) Anderson, Mandan, ND and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters, Darlene and Shirley.

Funeral services will be 10:30 am, Friday, April 20, 2012 at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Colman. Visitation is Thursday from 5:00 -7:00 pm at Skroch Funeral Chapel.
