Melanie L. Sutton-Lloyd, 51, of Watertown formerly of Flandreau, died Friday, April 23, 2010 at Prairie Lakes Hospital, Watertown. She was born December 25, 1958 in Sioux Falls to James and Judy (Augustad) Dahl. She was raised by her mother and her husband, William L. Foster. She received her education in Colman and graduated from Brookings High School. Melanie married Charles Sutton on July 30, 1976 in Flandreau. To this union, two children were born, Leandra and Lynsey. Melanie went on to pursue a nursing career and was married to Wayne Lloyd on February 5, 1986 in Dothan, AL. To this union, their daughter Alexandra "Lexi" was born. Melanie was presently residing in Watertown.

Melanie is lovingly remembered by her three daughters, Leandra (John) Ryan, Flandreau, Lynsey (Dr. David) Whaley, Sioux Falls, Alexandra (Mitchell Relf) Lloyd, Colman; her mother, Judy (Duane) Strang, Sioux Falls; four grandchildren, Taylor, Tessa, Tyce and Kenley; four stepsiblings, Beth (Jason) Larson, Minneapolis, Michael (Michelle) Strang, Moorhead, MN, Kevin (Kim) Strang, Longview, WA and Carrie (Robert) Darrah, Fargo, ND. She was preceded in death by her biological father, James Dahl, father, William Foster and grandparents, John and Laura Augustad, Jennings and Berdyne Dahl and Ann "Peggy" and Earl Foster, Sr.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am Wednesday at Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, Flandreau with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation begins at 5:00 pm Tuesday with a 7:00 pm scripture service at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Flandreau.
