Marlene was born June 13, 1935 in Sioux Falls, SD to George and Leila (Bruhn) Rothenbuehler. She received her education in Sioux Falls and then worked at Stockman's Cafe and later at Bethany Nursing Home. Marlene married Wayne Petersen on May 18, 1957 in Sioux Falls. She married Marvin Ullom on August 14, 1967 in Sioux Falls. They moved to Flandreau in 1993 and Marvin preceded in death on January 6, 2006. Marlene moved to Brandon in March of 2006. She loved to go dancing, fishing, play bingo and go on family vacations. The last few years she enjoyed shopping at Goodwill, going out to eat and listening to music at the Brandon VFW with her sister-in-law, Carol Rothenbuehler.
Marlene is survived by three sons, Ron (Renee) Ullom, Valley Springs, SD, Allen Petersen, Brandon, SD and Larry (Elise) Petersen, Fridley, MN; four grandchildren, Melissa, Kyle, Haley and Emily; a sister-in-law, Carol Rothenbuehler, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin; her parents; and six siblings, Lois, Vernon, Dorothy, Cal, Devona and Dale.
