Marion I. Hammer, 82, of Flandreau, SD passed away Monday, August 29, 2022 at Riverview Healthcare Center, Flandreau. Marion was born on April 6, 1940 at Thief River Falls, MN to Kenneth and Viola (Haugen) Moen. As a young girl they moved to Newfolden, MN where she received her education graduating in 1958. She attended the Lutheran Bible Institute in Minneapolis, MN and was married on October 15, 1960 at New Folden to Norman Hammer. They moved to Flandreau until Norman was stationed at Ft. Sill, OK in 1961-1962. After his discharge they moved to Minneapolis, MN, Holstein, IA and Parker, SD until 1977 when they returned to northwest of Flandreau. They moved into Flandreau in 2010 where they have continued to make their home. During her career Marion became an ordained minister, sold Lutheran Brotherhood Insurance, Avon products and helped Norman take care of the Ward Rest Area on I-29. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church.

Marion is survived by her husband Norman; son Brian (Tammie) Hammer, Flandreau; 5 grandchildren, Thea, Bradley Jr., Danielle, Dana, Megan; 16 great-grandchildren, Danny, Kovan, Gage, Anessa, Bradley III, Bentley, Jax, Lettie, Jaylyn, Masyn, Drevyn, Torrah, Everlee, Jakobi, Drayden, Ezlyn; 3 sisters, Katherine Rokke, New Folden, Doreen McDonald, San Diego, CA, Judy (Jerry) Duray, Newfolden; brother, Gene (Sue) Moen, Bemidji, MN. She was preceded in death by three children, Lynette, Bradley and Kristene; grandson Justin; great-grandson Nash and a son-in-law Dale.

Funeral services will be 10:30 am Wednesday, September 7, 2022  at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Flandreau with burial in Union Cemetery, Flandreau. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 - 7:00 pm with a 7:00 pm prayer service at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Flandreau.
