Marguerite M. Strenge, 95, of Colman, SD passed away Friday, December 15, 2017 at Riverview Healthcare Community, Flandreau, SD. Marguerite was born on June 1, 1922 in Belle Township in Beadle County, SD to John and Mary Gertrude (Schmidt) Wyant. The family moved to Worthing, SD where she attended country school. She went to Canton for two years of high school and graduated from Flandreau High School in 1940.  She moved to Sioux Falls after graduation.  Marguerite married Vernon Strenge on July 20, 1942 in Parker, SD.  She and Vernon moved to Colman in April of 1950.  She and Vernon had three children, Kenneth, Roger and Ronald.  Marguerite wrote the weekly Colman News article for the Moody County Enterprise for 45 years, starting in March of 1971.  She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters and the American Legion Auxiliary.  Marguerite loved spending time with special friends listening to the South Dakota Old Time Fiddlers.

Marguerite is survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her three sons, husband, siblings and parents.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at St. Peter Catholic Church in Colman with burial in St. Peter Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials to Riverview Healthcare Community.
