On March 23, 2023 our family lost and Heaven gained our loving Mother Marge Sorensen.  Marge was born on May 13, 1926 to Mable and Albert Guthmiller at their farm home near Freeman SD.  She grew up in rural Freeman and graduated from Menno High School in 1945.  In 1946 she married Heins Heinsohn of Scotland SD, and they farmed near Olivet SD.  They were blessed with two children – Lori Ann 1959 and William Heins 1963.  Heins died tragically in a farm accident on November 6, 1971.  In 1978 Marge married Lorell Sorensen of Flandreau and added three grown children Maxine, Shirley, and Jon to her family.  Marge eventually added 15 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren to her family, in addition to many, much loved, nieces and nephews.

Marge loved music and she participated in many choirs and concerts.  Her biggest thrill was participating in the Billy Graham Choir.  She attended First Lutheran Church in Brookings and was a member of the Hospital Auxiliary, V.F.W Auxiliary, Eastern Star, and Brookings Activity Center.  Marge did volunteer work in numerous nursing homes and hospitals.

Family will greet friends in a visitation from 5:00-7:00 PM Tuesday 28 March 2023 at Skroch Funeral Chapel, 409 E 2 ^nd Ave, Flandreau SD.  Funeral Services will begin 10:30 AM Wednesday 29 March 2023 at First Lutheran Church in Brookings SD with worship and fellowship prior to burial at the Scotland SD cemetery.

Grateful for having shared her life are daughters Lori Heinsohn/Jones (husband Dean Jones), Maxine Bergh/Sorensen (husband George Bergh), Shirley Suedkamp/Sorensen (husband Dick Suedkamp), and son Bill Heinsohn (wife Sharon Heinsohn).  Heins, Lorell, her parents (Mable and Albert) and 3 bothers (Mervin, Emmett, & Laverne Guthmiller) and 2 sisters (Lorraine Baltzer & Irene Imig) preceded her in death.
