Lucile V. Schoenwetter, 75, passed away Monday, January 7, 2013 at her home in Flandreau. Lucile was born October 6, 1937 in Watertown, SD to John and Florence (Steuck) Dewall. She attended country school in the Henry and Grover area and then Rapid City High School and Hazel High School. Lucile worked in Rapid City and Watertown and was united in marriage to Melvin Schoenwetter on September 5, 1956 in Watertown. She worked at Dakota Poultry of Watertown from 1962 until 1973. Lucile attended Pipestone Vocational School and North Dakota State School of Science, Wahpeton. She then worked at the Malinda Hotel in Brookings from 1983 until 1987 when she moved to Flandreau. In Flandreau she worked at Eaton Dakota, Julson Motors, Flandreau Motors, Raven Aerostar of Madison, and as a housekeeper for Avera Flandreau Medical Center until her retirement. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Brookings. Lucile enjoyed baking, cooking, cats, flowers and her family.
Lucile is survived by two sons, Irvin and Marvin Schoenwetter, Flandreau, a daughter-in-law, Wanda Schoenwetter, Huron, six grandchildren, Kylob, James, Michealle, Sheena, Tiffany and Brandy, eleven great-grandchildren, two sisters, Carol Davis and Judy (Wayne) Cram both of Watertown. She was preceded in death by her daughter Ruth Ann, two sons, Robert and Roy "Donnie" Schoenwetter and her parents.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Flandreau with burial in Union Cemetery. Visitation is from 5:00 – 8:00 pm Friday at Skroch Funeral Chapel.
