Lorraine Lee Johnson, 72, of Flandreau, SD, passed away at her home surrounded by family on Wednesday, October 8, 2025. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at Second Presbyterian Church in Flandreau, SD. The family will be present for visitation one hour prior to the memorial service.

Lorraine was born on November 5, 1952 in Flandreau, SD to Harvey and Donna (Jensen) Christensen. She grew up and received her education attending Flandreau Public Schools. In high school, she met Monte Johnson at the Sugar Bowl with a group of friends and he walked her home. Lorraine and Monte were then united in marriage on October 30, 1971 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Flandreau. To this union, the couple were blessed with two sons, Travis and Terry and the family made their home in town.

After high school, Lorraine worked at Westside Grocery, she then spent time as an equipment operator at Eaton Dakota. She then went on to work for 17 years at 3M in Brookings as a machine operator. In addition to her jobs, she would also help Monte farm.

What she enjoyed most was spending time with her family. They took many fishing trips together over the years. She was especially fond of time spent with her children and grandchildren.

Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Monte Johnson, Flandreau, SD; her sons, Travis (Brenda) Johnson, Independence, MN, Terry (Rhiannon) Johnson, St. Louis Park, MN; siblings, Linda (Lloyd) Donley, Brookings, SD, CarlaJean Tokpan, Sioux Falls, SD, Larry (Anette) Christensen, Luck, WI, Nick (Claire) Hanson, Scotland, and Heidi Hanson, Flandreau, SD; grandchildren, Axel (McKenna) Norman, Delano, MN, Samantha Norman, Manchester, TN, Timothy Johnson and Noll Johnson, St. Louis Park, MN; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Donna Christensen, and sisters, Lavonne Corcoran, and Lois Louise.
