Loretta M. Nelson, 66, of Sioux Falls, SD, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Sanford USD Medical Center, Sioux Falls. Loretta was born August 30, 1950 in Flandreau, SD to Carl and Emily (Kroeger) Nelson. She was educated in Flandreau and moved with her family to Sioux Falls. Loretta worked in housekeeping for several businesses and was a janitor at Sioux Falls Lincoln High School. She worked for many years at American Western and then worked at Ravens in Sioux Falls until retiring due to ill health. Loretta enjoyed fishing, car shows, the races at Huset's, the yearly fireworks show in Flandreau and monster truck shows.

She is survived by her 2 daughters, Tina Nelson (Jeff McCaw) and Holly Miles, both of Sioux Falls; 4 grandchildren, Tyler, Kip, Emily and Riley; 1 great-granddaughter, Harley; 3 sisters, Ruth Ann Anderson, Sioux Falls, Linda (Kelly) Egan, Renner, Doris Sporer, Valley Springs and 1 brother, Kenneth (Dot) Nelson, Sioux Falls. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl Nelson and Oren and Emily Rossow, a brother, David "Ross" Rossow and a nephew Bobby Anderson.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Flandreau with burial in Union Cemetery, Flandreau. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at Skroch Funeral Chapel.
