Lorena Hofer passed away peacefully in her sleep at Avera Hospital in Sioux Falls due to complications from a knee replacement.  Lorena was born in Gracevale, MN to (Harold and Lena Hofer) in 1971.  She lived at Bigstone Colony for the first 6 years of her life and could still happily recall short memories of those years. She moved to Pleasant Valley Colony in 1977, where she resided till her death. Lorena had 2 brothers, 1 sister, and 9 nieces and nephews whom she adored with all her heart. Lorena was a very loving and caring person. She would have taken the clothes off her back when she saw someone was in need. She was always quick to compliment anyone and was good at cheering people up. Nothing made her feel better than when she could hold little children and fuss over them and give them little treats. Lorena will be greatly missed by all her family and friends and all of us at Pleasant Valley. Through good times and bad times we loved her, because she was our Lorena.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 12, 2018 at Pleasant Valley Colony, rural Flandreau with burial in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
