Lillian Jeanne (Eastman) Goodeagle, "Oyate Wayankapi Win", age 64, of Flandreau, South Dakota passed away on November 13, 2020 at Avera McKennan Sioux Falls. Tweedy (Lillian) was born September 16, 1956, in Huron, South Dakota to parents Emmett and Francis Crawford Eastman. Tweedy is enrolled member of Sisseton-Wahpeton Dakota Oyate and descendant of Northern Cheyenne (Lame Deer, Montana). She was raised with sisters Leslie, Lynn, Laurie, Lucille; and brothers Francis and Emmett Jr. In 1974, she graduated high school from Wahpeton, North Dakota. She attended Indians Into Medicine UND and graduated Haskell Indian College. In 1976, Lillian married Marlin George Tahdooahnippah, from this union two beautiful, talented, inspiring daughters were born; Winona and Nahmi Ioleta. Christmas 1982, Tweedy married Ronnie Dee Goodeagle in Oklahoma. Spring of 1984, she gave birth to her pride and joy, one and only son Ronnie Goodeagle Jr.

Tweedy and Ronnie made their home in Flandreau, South Dakota. They worked at the Flandreau Indian School. "Mrs. Goodeagle" advised, coached, and encouraged students in Cross Country, Cheerleading, and Indian Club. She loved working, cooking, and dancing with students. "the Goodeagle's" shared their dance regalia with many students wishing to dance. She left a legacy of mentoring  boarding school students. They enjoyed taking the students to pow wows and performances. They worked many years at FIS, GO INDIANS! Tweedy is a champion fancy shawl dancer, traveling to pow wows across United States and Canada. She made many family and friends along the way, Charging Eagle family, Vera Kingbird, Wanda Bowers, Her Many horses family, Tim Grant family, Baker family, Street family, Rueban Crowfeather, Laurie May and Keenan Sayers. Red Nation, Stoney Park, Mandaree, Battle River, Mystic River, and Meskwaki Nation are some of her favorite drums. As a founding member of the Lakota Sioux Dance Theatre, she developed and organized the theatrical performance. She choreographed and performed as a fancy shawl, jingle and traditional dancer. During those years, she traveled the world to such places as France, Finland, England, Portugal, Japan, Dubai, Italy, and Greece.

Random facts: she won the Sisseton-Wahpeton Sioux Tribal Princess, selected to run in the Jr. Miss North Dakota competition. Gramma Tweedy enjoyed cooking with her granddaughters Lilia and Ioleta Kingbird, Neena and Tess Lasley, and Makiah Goodeagle. Sharing her love of dancing and beadwork. She took pride in her grandchildren's talents and achievements in education, sports, dancing, and backup singing.

She is survived by Ron Goodeagle (husband); Children; Winona Tahdooahnippah, Nahmi (Tyler) Lasley, Ron (Miya) Goodeagle Jr; Stepchildren; Gideon Goodeagle, Tesa Dee Roubideoux, Aiden Callaway, Laura Sage, Jeremy Merriman, and Lisa Fisher. Hunka children; Steve and Wetu Charging Eagle, Jeremy King, Tawny Hale, Keveon Kingbird, and Iliana Montoya; her father, Emmett Eastman Sr.; 15 grandchildren; and siblings: Leslie Eastman, Lynn Eastman, Laurie Many Lightenings, Lucille Eastman, Francis Eastman, Emmett Eastman Jr, and Annie Eastman. She was preceded in death by her mother, Francis Lucille Eastman, Charles A Eastman (infant brother), grandparents, Francis And Marie Crawford, Lillian Sansaver Crawford, Oliver and Bertha Eastman; special sister Whitney Charging Eagle, Wambli Charging Eagle and favorite nephew Leland "Donga" Thompson.

All Night Traditional Wake Services will begin at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at the Wicaicago Otipi Community Center in Flandreau. Following the meal and services, Lillian and family will proceed to the Buffalo Lake Presbyterian Cemetery, Eden, South Dakota for burial. Pallbearers are her grandsons; Triston, Nathan, Tyrin Lasley, Lincoln Kingbird, Antonio, Xavier, Isaiah, Averyn, Zeus Goodeagle, and Micah Goodeagle. Honorary pallbearers are all Golden Age Fancy Shawl Dancers, Dianne Desrosiers, Kayanne St.John, Marcy Fiddler, and Tosha Goodwill.
