Lillian C. Buresch, 87, of Flandreau died Saturday, June 21, 2008 at the Brookview Manor, Brookings, SD. Lillian was born June 8, 1921 on the family farm in Nobles County, MN to Paul and Mary (Behr) Goedtke. She was raised on the family farm and attended country school until the 8th grade. Lillian married Peter D. Greenhoff, Jr. on December 15, 1937 in Fulda, MN. They farmed in Murray County until 1949 when they moved to Moody County and continued to farm. Lillian married George Buresch on May 3, 1963 in Pipestone, MN. She cleaned at US West Telephone Company for 16 years. She retired in 1991 and continued to make their home in Flandreau. Her husband preceded her in death on November 8, 1994. She entered Brookview Manor in August of 2005 where she resided until her death. Lillian was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and the Ladies Group. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening and taking care of her grandkids.
Lillian is survived by her 3 daughters, Janice Weinkauf, Rapid City, SD; Judy (Gary) Werkmeister, Madison, SD; Cynthia Thompson and fiancé, Rick Grimsley, Brookings; 9 grandkids, Mike, Michelle, Tonya, Troy, Shanda, Caity, Justin, Michael, Faith; 8 Great- Grandchildren, Marissa, Benjamin, Olivia, Danielle, Jenna, Mariah, Jordan, Adilynn; her sister's and brother, Evelyn Behr, Fulda, MN; Luella Kirschner, Avoca, MN; Eldon Goedtke, Jacksonville, FL and Marion Isder, Fulda, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband; 2 sons, Stanley and Larry and her parents.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10:00 am at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Flandreau with burial in the Union Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 4 pm Tuesday with a 7 pm prayer service at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Flandreau.
