Liberty Jo Amdahl, age 2, was born on July 21st, 2010 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. From the day she was born 4 weeks early, to the 9 months she battled cancer, it was clear she was a little fighter. Liberty passed away from disease progression on May 31, 2013. Liberty was a smiling, beautiful, sweet, affectionate little girl whose personality and love deeply touched anyone who crossed her path. Liberty appreciated the "little things" in life. She taught us how to live, how to love, and what life is really about. Liberty was often called a "Dolly", even by complete strangers that didn't know her. Liberty was also often referred to as a "beauty queen", and would correct the hospital staff if they called her Liberty. Liberty was diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma on August 21, 2012. Liberty underwent many procedures, tests, took many different chemo drugs and other medications, but rarely complained. Liberty didn't care where she was (hospital or home) she embraced every moment and lived it to the fullest. Even days when she wasn't feeling well, she would play right through it and wouldn't let it slow her down. Liberty loved to ride a four-wheeler, snowmobile, play outside with her sissy, dogs (Striker and Rosco) and cat (Salt), and go for rides in grandpa and grandma Tandeski's "getter." She loved animals and visiting grandpa and grandma Amdahl's horse Misty and dog Goose and the Paulsen's cows, kitties, and horse. She loved all her friends and watched out for them like a little "mother hen." Liberty has impacted so many people's lives all around this country. So many people were drawn to her outgoing, loveable personality. Liberty showed us so much during her short time here on earth. We are so very blessed to have had her in our lives and she will live in the hearts of many forever and ever.

Liberty is survived by her mom and dad Leanne and Cody Amdahl and her big sissy Elodie, grandparents Jim and Kim Amdahl, Jerry and Renee Tandeski, uncles Chase Amdahl, Clifton (Shauni) Tandeski, all of Flandreau, aunt Kirstin (Jeff) Dyreson of Preston, MN, great-grandparents, Orval and Marie Amdahl, Lanesboro, MN, Donna Worrall, Rollette, ND, Mike Tandeski, Bottineau, ND, Duane Olson, Maddock, ND and many extended family members and friends. Liberty was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Darrell Worrall, Janice Olson, Kenneth and Johannah Vreeman and a special friend Colton Post.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Flandreau with visitation from 5:00-7:00 pm Tuesday with a 7:00 pm prayer service at Skroch Funeral Chapel.
