Lenora Sundermeyer, 95, passed away August 3, 2014 at Riverview Health Services. Lenora was born on July 3, 1919 on the family farm in Moody County to William and Sophia (Oldenburg) Kiecksee. She went to Keith Country School and graduated from Flandreau High School in 1937. Lenora married Walter Sundermeyer on October 24, 1942 in Elkton, SD. Lenora and Walt farmed in the Ward area for 30 years before moving to Flandreau in 1972. Lenora worked at the Flandreau Bakery until her retirement. She was preceded in death by her husband Walt on October 20, 1992. Lenora loved the Yankees and the Cubs. She was baptized, confirmed, and a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Lenora is survived by her children, Janice Kristofferson, Watertown, James Sundermeyer, Flandreau, Karen Sundermeyer, Sioux Falls, Janet (Jim) Wiedewitsch, Perham, MN, grandchildren, Todd, Angie, Jenny, Jason, Jerry, Laura, Tim, Matthew, Sarah, Brittany, great-grandchildren, Rachel, Katie, Hunter, Mariah, Ethan, Marley, Peyton, Darian, Ayden, Isabel, Jennifer, Tanner, Jacey, Griffin, Hadley, Alexis, Rhean, Lexy, Desteny, Aliyah, great-great-grandchild, Kiera, one sister, Lorraine Schroeder, Flandreau, two brothers, Wilmer (Genevieve) Kiecksee, Morton, MN, Elmer (Vivian) Kiecksee, Brandon, and sister-in-law, Arlene Kiecksee. Lenora was preceded in death by her husband, four children, Rita, Mary, Chuck, and Bill, one brother, Adelbert, and son-in-law, Harlow.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Flandreau, with burial in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Ward. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service.
