Lee Ann Engelbrecht, 58, passed away Thursday, June 19, 2014 at the Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls. Lee Ann was born on May 20, 1956 in Vermillion, SD to Carroll and Corinne (Katzenberger) Barnes. She was a student at Washington High School and then attended Westminster College, Westminster, CA. Lee married Bradley Engelbrecht on August 2, 1980 in Sioux Falls. She worked at Sioux Valley Hospital. Lee opened Diagnostic Vascular Center in 1985 and has owned Mobile Sonographers, Inc. in Sioux Falls for 25 years. She is a member of St. Therese Catholic Church. Lee loved spending time with her family.
Lee is survived by her children, Rachel (Shawn) Carlson, Prior Lake, MN, Ross (Rianna) Engelbrecht, Alex Engelbrecht, all of Sioux Falls, two grandchildren, Cole and Beckett, her parents, Carroll and Corinne Barnes, Sioux Falls, two sisters, Lynne (Herb) Banks, Sioux Falls, Leslie (Mark) Mills, Spirit Lake, IA, two brothers, Charles Barnes and Scott (Lisa) Barnes, all of Sioux Falls and six nieces and nephews. Lee was preceded in death by her grandparents, four aunts and three uncles.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Monday, June 23, 2014 at St. Therese Catholic Church, Sioux Falls, with burial at Tea Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation is from 3 - 6 pm Sunday at the church with a 6 pm scripture service.
