Lawrence Eng, 97, passed away Sunday, September 7, 2014 at Riverview Health Services. Lawrence was born in Lone Rock Township, Moody County, SD on September 1, 1917 to Edwin and Inga (Ekern) Eng. Lawrence entered the military on August 21, 1942 where he served in the 3611 Ordinance Heavy Automotive Maintenance Company in the European Theater until his discharge on November 11, 1945. Lawrence married Lillian (Knutson) on July 18, 1946 in Parker, SD. Lawrence started Eng Services in 1934 which he continued to run until his retirement in 1994. Lillian preceded him in death on August 5, 2004. Lawrence moved to Riverview Health Services in the fall of 2010 and loved living there. He loved going to the Corner Cafe with friends and relatives and enjoyed having coffee and pie. Lawrence enjoyed going to auction sales and for twenty years they had a booth at the Flea Market in Sioux Falls.

Lawrence is survived by his three children: Dale (Marci), Flandreau; Janet (Martin) Lemme, Sioux Falls; Glen (Carla), Yankton; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren and a sister Marlys Berkland, Brookings, SD. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian, siblings; Merle, Bob, Cap, Helen, Ella, Edna and grandson, Jacob Lawrence.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church with burial in Union Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 – 7 pm Tuesday at Skroch Funeral Chapel.
