Obituary

Lawrence 'Larry' Billman, age 62, of Sioux Falls, SD, passed away on Monday, May 1, 2017 at his home. Lawrence Lee 'Larry' Billman was born in the state of New York on March 28, 1955 to David and Patricia (Lawrence) Billman. Larry attended Northwest High School in Omaha, Nebraska, graduating in 1973. Larry excelled in football and basketball while in high school. After graduating, he attended Augustana College in Sioux Falls. He was united in marriage to Mary Lynn Boyd in 1982 in Papillion, Nebraska. Larry and Mary spent ten years in Seattle, Washington, where Larry was involved with a wholesale plumbing company. They later returned to Papillion.  Larry was a people person, who was very well liked, which helped make him a successful businessman. Larry was currently working at Wells Fargo. Larry enjoyed golfing, fishing, and family camping trips. He was active in his daughter's softball career. He enjoyed watching his grandsons in all of their activities. Larry could often be found watching movies or sports, at home, as he had quite the collection of DVD's. He liked visiting family and friends at Lake Campbell, at Omaha, at Garden City, or wherever his daughters were. More than anything else, Larry's passion was raising his three girls and watching his four grandsons grow up. Every week Larry would get pictures of the boys and each time he visited his dad he would always share these photos.

Larry is survived by his wife, Mary; three daughters, Christina (Brent) Vigness, Cassandra (T.J.) Horton, and Catherine Billman; four grandsons, Brady, Boyd, Bryce, and Westyn; his father, David Billman; two brothers, Steve Billman and Chuck Billman; his sister, Debora Elmore; mother-in-law, Arlene Boyd; two brothers-in-law, David (Linda) Boyd and Ricky (Patty) Berger; sister-in-law, Betty Griffin; and many nieces and nephews.  Larry was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Billman, whom he was very close with.

The family will hold a Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Lake Campbell Lutheran Church, rural Volga, SD.
