Lavonne M. Corcoran, 59, of Flandreau died Friday, July 3, 2009 at her home. Lavonne was born on October 31, 1949 at Flandreau to Harvey and Donna (Jensen) Christensen. She received her education at Flandreau Public School and was married on June 25, 1970 at Pipestone, MN to Thomas Corcoran. Lavonne worked at the Flandreau Cafe and then worked at 3M in Brookings until she retired due to ill health. Lavonne loved camping, fishing, playing cards, cooking, attending to other people's needs, and especially spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Tom; a daughter, Sheila (Mike) Walker, Sturgis and a son, Tom, Jr., Flandreau; 3 grandchildren, Alyssa, Zackary, Hannah; 6 siblings, Linda (Lloyd) Donley, Brookings, Lorraine (Monte) Johnson, Flandreau, Larry (Annette) Christensen, Luck, WI, Carla Jean (Bafile) Tokpan, Sioux Falls, Nick Hanson, Flandeau, Heidi, Flandreau; her mother-in-law, Isabell Corcoran, Flandreau. Lavonne was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl Lee, her parents and a sister, Lois .

Funeral services will be Monday, July 6, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Second Presbyterian Church, Flandreau with burial at Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Cemetery, Flandreau.
